A. Fun Methods for Learning English



English is our second language, many Indonesian people felt difficult in understanding English. Yet almost all Indonesian people didn’t like when someone – especially pribumi talked in English, they usually said “sok inggris.” However we didn’t like English so much, we ought to study that subject. First, because it’s officially an international language, you will get additional scores in interview if you can communicate – minimal passive – English, and it is a utility to get accepted in your dream job (of course, if you are capable in other classifications). 

 To you, who didn’t like English, but are still trying to study English as long as you can. Here I will give you some methods for Learning English in fun:

  1. Learning by song. It was very entertaining, it also helped you to increase your vocabulary. These methods will make you relax and enjoy.
  2. Learning by games, have you done it before? I believe you ever do it. It might be that you are learning English unconsciously in some familiar games such as Mobile Legend, Free Fire, or Genshin Impact. To be honest, this method is desirable but sometimes you may forget that you are playing a game to learn English. In English class, the teacher can make their games to manage boredom.
  3. Learning by watching film. Some students may like this method. Not just a movie but also a cartoon, drama, or anything with short duration. After watching, teacher give some questions and they should answer it. It will help teacher to know how far their limit in English.
  4. Use technology in learning media. In the progress of learning, teacher can use some technology media such as LCD Projector, and or some English apps to visualize the material that we learn today.
  5. Choose a fun study atmosphere. It is such a tip for you. You can choose your way to study. Where is your favorite place? whose friends do you like to study by, etc. If only it could increase your concentration.  
  6. The last method is joining an English club. You can join an English club, try to study with new people, offer help and feedback, and also practice together. Maybe trying something new like this will make you feel excited and passionate.


B. How to Increase the 4th Basic Languages Skills


We already talk about how to make learning English more fun. Then we’ll also talk about basic language skills. English is a language, languages are about how someone can communicate. How to express what you need, what you want. And how people can catch what you mean. Almost all Indonesian people feel embarrassed whenever they talk in English. They aren’t confident because other students sometimes act like judges. Do you know what I mean? When your friends feel sure to speak in English, don’t you correct their grammar, pronunciation, or something. Except it’s an evaluation time. People could learn from how others talk, so if they know it is wrong, they can fix it by themselves.

There are 4th basic language skills that you should learn adequately:

  1. Listening. It is the first step to learning English. Listen to English. You can improve your listening skills by watching English movies, songs, shows, and podcasts.
  2. Speaking. After you can listen, you need to know how to talk. How you can speak in English, and how to say something with correct grammar, and pronunciation. Try to mimic the native speaker’s intonation and pronunciation. Please don’t be shy, it’s okay to make mistakes. We are still learning. 
  3. Reading. After you can listen and speak, you ought to know how to read. Usually, you will learn to read a long text, and after it, you try to re-tell the main story with your sentences. You also could appraise your skills.
  4. The last basic grammar is Writing. For me, it is the most complex skill. In writing, you should think and select the proper and beautiful vocabulary. You need to analyze how to make someone interested in your paper.

Children's Right

This pamphlet is made for educate us about children’s rights. As a human being, children also have rights as they should. There are laws that protect children’s right, in undang-undang number 35 of 2014 on the amendment of undang-undang number 23 of 2002. So as a parents, they should trying to fulfil it and undeprived children’s rights. In the pamphlet, we find 12 kinds of right that childrens should have: 1. Children have the right to be born good and to be cared as they grow. It means, as a parents. 2.
