How to be a Smart Student
Do you want to be a smart student? I guess everyone wants
it. Being a smart student isn’t difficult. You just need to manage yourself. Start
to plan what you want and set the time. Here I give you some tips also the explanation
to be a smart student in the form of SMART.
SMART contain of 5 letters, and here the explanation:
S - set goals
Setting goals can increase students'
motivation in studying. This means that the student has an aim in what they're
studying and so it motivates them more to learn until they reach their goals.
Other than that, setting goals allows students to measure their progress in
learning. By setting goals, students can measure their improvement as well as
determine what to do and not to do in achieving those goals in learning.
M – manage time
As a student, no matter what level of
education you are in, we should be able to manage our time for efficient
student lifestyle. Having time management skills can reduce procrastination and
make us more organized in terms of study planning, for example. When we are
more organized, we are less likely to stress.
A – active
Be active in class. Whether to ask a
question or simply to share your ideas and opinions about the topic given in
class. By asking questions, it helps us understand the material more by
clarifying concepts that may have been confusing before. Asking questions and
sharing opinions can also help us improve our critical thinking skills since
they require analyzing information and based on evidence.
R – responsible
To be a smart student, we have to be
responsible. When the teacher or lecturer gives us a task, do it. That's the
least you can do to be responsible. Even better if you put a lot of effort into
your tasks. When you're offered to become class president or a class
representative or a group leader, be responsible and take the offer. This means
that you have gained people's trust and they feel that they can rely on you.
So, being responsible gives you a positive feedback, whether it is from your
teachers or classmates.
T – take notes
When you're learning, it's a good
advice to take notes especially if you have a weak memory and need to read a
material over and over in order to understand the material. Taking notes can
also help you when you want to review and study a past lesson. Especially in
college, most lecturers tend to give their material orally. Therefore taking
notes can help you record accurate informations or even helps you understand
better by writing the informations in your own language.
Last, I will give a feedback to this poster. It is a simple but the information was clear. It can educate especially for students. They can make a self-improvement based on the information from this poster.
