By Carissa Putri (15) and Sania Destariva (37) from TBI 3B

Hey, wussup everyone! Finally after mid-term test, I can be here. My friend and I will review an animation movie with the title “Wish Dragon” with genre romace, comedy, fantasy. This movie has been released on May, 2021. There are many characters in this movie, and we will mention some of them. They are Din, Li Na, Long (Wish Dragon), Pipa God, Li Na’s father, Din’s mother, Pockets, Tall Goon, and Short Goon. It is an animation movie with setting place on China, both in Rural and Urban China. The plot used in this movie are mixed plot, both chronological and reverse plot.

This movie is showed about Wish Dragon, Long Zhu. Long Zhu is originally a lord in his past life. He got everything, even wealth, but he is greedy. That’s why Pipa God is mad at him, and he was cursed by Pipa God to be a dragon and lives at small teapot for a long time. He has to grant 3 wishes from 100 persons. Din is his last person. Din is different from other person he ever met. Din’s wish are just he could meet with his childhood friend, Li Na, and they were back again like in the past. Din living in a simple life with his mother, since Long Zhu lived with Din, he knew the meaning of life and how to be a good person. Even though Din has Long Zhu, the great dragon, but his journey to meet up with his friends aren’t as easy as we think. In the ending, Din and Li Na could meet and get back together.

According to our opinion the best character from this movie are Din, Long Zhu, and Din’s mother. We like Din’s character because Din is ambitious, if he wants something, he will try to achieve it. Meanwhile, Long Zhu is a unique and cute dragon. We like his body color, its pink. In our opinion, a pink dragon was rare, because usually the color of dragon character in other movies are green. We also like the character of Din’s mother. Even though she was a bit rude but she cares a lot about Din’s study. Even if she got mad but she still thinks about Din. We like Din and Li Na’s outfit on Li Na’s birthday party, beause it looks good. Din looks charming and Li Na looks so beautiful.

Carissa’s favorite scene is at the end of the story when the main character, Din hugs Long Zhu in the form of Din’s gratitude because Long Zhu was helped and granted his 3 wishes. This scene is very heartfelt and moved her on.

Meanwhile, Sania’s favorite scene are when Long and Din on the way to meet Li Na. Long was excited when Din said they were going to Urban China by bus. But when Long Zhu on the bus, the atmosphere not as he thought. After it, they went by taxi and Long was excited until there was a traffic light. The second scene I like is when Li Na come to Din’s house. They with Din’s mom and the neighbors are watching movie together. Until there was a a shocking movie scene, and Long was shocked. His gesture and expression is funny.

According to our group, we recommend this movie for all people including children start from 13 years old. Because it also contains some violence scene, especially when the part towards the end of the movie. Actually it is a good movie but unfortunately the plot story slightly similar with Aladdin movie, so its feel familiar and makes us less interested. Also if we are not wrong, the character, Pockets are similar with the one of minion character. Although this movie has shortages, however it contain many implicit moral that we can learn from it. There are some moral that we can learn from this “Wish Dragon” movie are:

a)    If you want something, you should try your best so you can achieve it or make it true.

b)   Don’t be greedy.

c)   Keep the relationship with each other, for example with friends. If we are forgot about our friends, at least when they meet us and or greet us, we should give respect to them.

So our movie review was on ending. We hope this review could help you to decide wether yes or not to watch "Wish Dragon" movie.
